“…The heart and humerus bone were harvested from each of the fetal pigs and placed in 10% formalin solution. Thin (approximately 1.0 mm) flat and parallel short-axis cross-sectional specimens of the fetal hearts, representing a transverse plane perpendicular to the long axis of the heart at the mid-papillary level, were prepared using a previously described method (Gibson et al 2007).
