This section describes the methods used to estimate the electricity demands of each of the end-user classes served by Western's customers. The purposes of the demand analysis were to (1) forecast the growth in the load (i.e., the amount of energy sold) served by each of the utility systems serviced by the Salt Lake City Area (SLCA) Office over the period 1993-2008,1 and (2) estimate the price elasticity of demand for all the major end-user classes and customer groups. The results of the demand analysis were used as inputs to the power system analysis described in Section A.2.
