Refugees, Immigrants, and Their Children in the Czech Republic

Abstract

Problems of migration are very relevant for all the states in the EU, as well as for the whole world.At the end of December 2006 there were 323 343 foreigners with permanent and long term resi dence in the Czech Republic. The most frequent five nationalities of these foreigners were the following (number of foreigners): Ukrainian (l02 594); Slovak (58 384); Vietnamese (40 799); Polish (l8 894); Russian (l8 564), and others (82 221 ).
