In recent years, the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT), its different models and emerging conceptual frameworks, have offered new opportunities for the integration of technologies into everyday life. Although initially based on the notion of the link between a physical device, its counterpart in a virtual environment and the technological aspects of that relationship, IoT-based wearable devices now offer multiple contributions to all types of users, from professionals and organizations to ordinary people. However, there are inaccuracies, abundant definitions, limited clarity in terms of trends, benefits, components, challenges and future lines of research. In this sense, a mixed literature review study was conducted. The mixed design, of dominant type (CUAN-qual), was composed of a quantitative analysis of bibliometric type and a qualitative analysis of thematic type and embedded in the first one. Data are provided on the main trends observed in the bibliometric indicators studied, a synthesis of some qualitative indicators of particular relevance and pertinence. In addition, future lines of research are presented to address strengths and challenges in this field.

Background: Healthcare 4.0 has transformed supply chain management in the healthcare sector, but there is a lack of comprehensive frameworks to evaluate the impact of Healthcare 4.0 technologies on sector operations, particularly in developing countries. Methods: This study introduces a multi-criteria framework that synergically combines the techno-economic implications of Healthcare 4.0 technologies to improve healthcare supply chain management. The proposed approach innovatively integrates fuzzy VIKOR and Entropy methods to handle data vagueness and uncertainty, using data collected from healthcare supply chain specialists in Lagos, Nigeria. Results: The developed framework identifies the most and least critical technical and economic parameters for Healthcare 4.0 implementation in healthcare supply chain management. It also determines the suitability of different Healthcare 4.0 technologies for supply chain management in the healthcare sector. Conclusions: The main innovation of this study lies in the development of a comprehensive and context-specific framework for evaluating Healthcare 4.0 technologies in healthcare supply chains. The framework offers a new perspective on technology evaluation and provides practical insights for decision-makers. The findings contribute to advancing knowledge and practice in this field, promoting the proper adoption of Healthcare 4.0 technologies in healthcare, particularly in developing countries.

The integration of technological advances into health sciences has promoted their development, but also generated setbacks and difficulties for digital transformation. In different areas, technology has modified the processes of diagnosis, teaching and learning, treatment and monitoring, which is why the study of new technologies and the models that support their introduction is essential. Internet of Things is one of these models, which, in turn, includes different models, devices and applications. Due to its breadth of exploitation options and benefits, in the health area this concept has been adopted and particularized as the Internet of Medical Things. With the purpose of achieving an approximation to the main trends and characteristics, a literature review study was conducted, based on mixed methods. Two studies were carried out with a sequential strategy, the first being bibliometric and the second a scoping review. The main results allowed us to describe the main trends in terms of bibliometric indicators, a thematic analysis in terms of areas, populations, benefits and limitations. It is concluded that there is a need for new interdisciplinary studies and lines for future research are presented.
