In Indonesia, a kampong is an urban village region where about 75% of the city populace resides. Of late, kampongs have been drawing the attention of city government authorities with regards to formulation of kampong improvement initiatives and the conservation of kampongs by adhering to specific themes. This includes Malang city as well. Concerning one of the many urban planning challenges regarding sustainability, it is essential to monitor the kampong pattern in Malang. This pattern may be used for creating other kampongs using the template. The space syntax approach is utilised for determining the attributes of the kampong spatial patterns in Malang city. Moreover, kampong patterns were compared to determine the anticipated pattern. Depth computation and map connectivity concerning any theme-based Malang kampongs were used. Computing such patterns requires connectivity and depth computations. Justified plots are mathematical tools used for such computations; the DepthMapX software is used for the same. The present research aims to determine computations used for kampong pattern identification utilised for city planning. This computation will help determine which kampong has the most superior depth and connectivity among the reviewed kampongs and which kampong has the most intricate spatial syntax.

Nowadays, the interaction of people in the world is deemed a controversial topic and consequently, the creation of an appropriate context for interacting with individuals is one of the issues that is considered by architects in many designs. In this research, it has been endeavored to consider the factors affecting social interactions in the design of public libraries through the descriptive-inferential analysis. The results of this research reveal that in the architectural spaces that have been designed with open-configured plans, spatial integrity and sociability will increase. On the other hand, the factors such as depth and the level of privacy are also reduced. Therefore, in designing a public library with an approach toward social interaction, there should be a variety of open and closed-configured spaces in the plan that allow users to choose the space they optionally want and in which they would enjoy in their own presence by choosing their own activities.

Housing is one of the most important buildings' typologies, by its universal nature and its relation to one of the most basic human needs, where "Home" reflects the "Human" socioculture and lifestyle.The issue for people who cannot afford buying their own homes is: "what kind of place they should live in" as their homes are determined by housing authorities, planners, architects, politicians, and social philanthropists, depending on universal and local standards. The standards used to define appropriate living spaces for a person impose significant constraints on personal choice, which would be reflected on housing projects, particularly in new cities, especially for middle-income and low-income families.This paper considers the gap between the characteristics of residents' socio-culture and lifestyle on one hand, and the available residential units in the real estate market on the other hand, focusing on the housing of low-income families in Egypt. It presents an overview of universal and local standards, and reviews case study housing units according to design standards and residents' needs. Data is analysed and compared syntactically and statistically by using: "DepthmapX software" for the under-consideration models' syntactical analysis, and "SPSS software" for questionnaire statistical analysis. The results show that these models are not matching nor consistent as spatial structure, although all models represent Egyptian lowincome housing typology, in addition to the residents' dissatisfaction with them. Accordingly, this paper results in some guidelines for a residential unit proposed design, while its syntactical and statistical analysis represent clear socio-culture and lifestyle manifests.
