A battery concept based on the chemical system of magnesium (anode) and persulfate (cathode) is presented. A complete procedure is given to prepare the battery for testing, although no experimental data is presented herein. The similarities of this system to a well-tested Li||LiFePO4 system lend strong credibility to the concept, and the estimated performance characteristics presented. The advantages of this design include the following many areas. First, inexpensive, and available, battery reagents exist. Second, by analogy to the lithium ion battery for which comparisons are made, the full fabrication process for battery separator design is known and efficient; and both the kJ/kg and Amps/kg values are estimated to be substantially larger than the lithium ion battery (e.g., Li||LiFePO4) experimental design. Finally, flammability of the Mg||MgS2O8 system can be expected to provide less of a potential flammability concern, compared to comparable lithium ion batteries. This is because lithium metal, as with any alkali metal, is aggressively flammable even under reduced moisture environments. The proposed magnesium persulfate battery calculated metrics yield an improvement of 194% greater output power (W/cm 2 •kg), and 154% greater stored energy (MJ/kg) than state-of-the-art lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Ecological models hold significant potential for advancing lake research. In this study, we employed CiteSpace, a bibliometric analysis tool, and VOSviewer, a visualisation software, to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of recent advancements in ecological modelling within the context of lake research. The objective was to furnish valuable references in support of the widespread application of ecological models in aquatic environments. Using the 4688 articles collected in the Web of Science (WoS) core database as the sample data source, conducting corresponding data mining and quantitative analysis through visualisation analysis software such as CiteSpace and VOSviewer. From the perspectives of literature output patterns, keyword co‐occurrence networks and future research directions, in‐depth quantitative and visual analysis is carried out on the current status of research on lake ecological models, research institutions, journal publication situations, prolific authors and research hot topics. Through meticulous examination of literature and organisational categorisation techniques, we systematically scrutinised and synthesised the present state, limitations and noteworthy considerations associated with models such as EFDC, CE‐QUAL‐W2, DYRESM‐CAEDYM, AQUATOX, Vollenweider, PCLake, MIKE, WASP and Deflt3D in the context of lake research. Our findings reveal that research focal points from 2002 to 2022 encompass climate change, the ramifications of eutrophication on aquatic ecosystems and the effects of phytoplankton and resuspended sediments on lake management.

Controlling non-point source (NPS) pollution is crucial for implementing water environment management, and simulating the water quality response to NPS pollution emission control schemes is of great importance. Variational mode decomposition (VMD) can overcome endpoint effects and modal aliasing issues, effectively separating intrinsic mode components. Bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) can fully mine the information contained in time series and has good predictive performance. MIKE21, when coupled with the Ecolab module, can well simulate the diffusion process of NPS pollution. The Weihe River water environment prediction model was constructed using VMD-BiLSTM and MIKE21, with ammonia nitrogen (NH 3 -N), total phosphorus (TP), and chemical oxygen demand (COD) as pollution indicators, showing the water quality response of the Weihe River within a few years after the implementation of agricultural and urban NPS pollution emission control schemes. Among them, the COD concentration decreased by up to 71.3%, the NH3-N concentration decreased by up to 31.4%, and the TP concentration decreased by up to 43.1%. The results show that the water quality of the Weihe River can be significantly improved by controlling NPS pollution emission, and reducing agricultural NPS pollution emission is key to decreasing ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus concentrations and improving water quality.
