Reduction of the Benzo[a]pyrene-Induced In Vitro Toxicity by Neferine from Lotus and Daidzein, Genistein from Soybean

Abstract: The objective of the this study was to reduce the benzo[a]pyrene-induced hepatotoxicity method in herbal medicine products and to give proof that neferine, daidzein, genistein possess antihepa-totoxic effects. B[a]P which classified as a group 1 carcinogen and metabolized to B[a]P-7,8-dihydrodiol-9,10-epoxide (BPDE) causes mutagenic DNA addition products.
