Reduction of Pain, Fatigue, Gastrointestinal and Other Symptoms and Improvement in Quality of Life Indicators in Fibromyalgia Patients with Membrane Lipid Replacement Glycerolphospholipids and Controlled-Release Caffeine

Abstract: Objectives: A preliminary, open label study was initiated to determine if oral wafers containing a combination of membrane glycerolphospholipids and controlled-release caffeine could reduce self-reported pain, fatigue, and gastrointestinal symptoms and improve quality of life (QOL) indicators in fibromyalgia patients. Methods: Pain, fatigue and other symptoms were determined using validated, patient survey forms completed over an 8-day test period and compared to baseline values. Participants included 21 patie… Show more

“…Even in certain psychiatric diseases, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disease, among others, some cancers and other conditions, fatigue is among the most common symptom found, and in these cases it may or may not be associated with mitochondrial dysfunction [11,22]. As an example, depression in some psychiatric disoders and in cancer patients is frequently related to mild fatigue states that show some physical, [32,33].…”

“…Widespread pain is another symptom treated with MLR supplements, such as NTFactor Lipids ® [17,18]. Pain is a complex symptom that involves nerve cell channelopathies, microcirculation, autoimmune responses and other factors [19,20].…”

“…Pain is a complex symptom that involves nerve cell channelopathies, microcirculation, autoimmune responses and other factors [19,20]. In fibromyalgia patients NTFactor Lipids ® significantly reduced pain, fatigue, gastrointestinal symptoms and improved Quality of Life assessments without evidence of adverse reactions [17]. In patients with widespread musculoskeletal and peripheral pain, chronic fatigue and many other signs and symptoms there were dramatic improvements while taking oral NTFactor…”

“…The use of oral MLR glycerolphospholipids with unsaturated fatty acids (example, NTFactor Lipids) in doses ranging from 3 -4 g per day has proven to be safe and effective for many clinical conditions, including acute and chronic mycoplasmal infections (reviewed in [172] [174]). MLR results in the actual replacement of damaged membrane phospholipids with undamaged (unoxidized) phospholipids to ensure proper functioning of cellular and intracellular membranes, such as mitochondrial inner membranes essential to cellular energy production.…”

“…MLR has also been used to reduce fatigue, pain, gastrointestinal and other symptoms [172] [173] [174], and in mycoplasma-infected and other patients it can restore critical cellular membrane functions [173]. MLR can also help remove hydrophobic neurotoxins, such as mold toxins, that can interfere with cellular response mechanisms and mitochondrial function [171] [172].…”
