This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of online worship for the spiritual growth of the Bethel Church of Indonesia Parakletos Cengkareng, using a descriptive qualitative method approach and data collection through the Bible and various books and journals and interviews. Online worship at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic was considered ineffective by several individuals, including pastors and congregations, in supporting the spiritual growth of God's community because the distance was considered contrary to the nature of God's assembly as a church, which was called to fellowship in the temple of God in unity. As a result, online worship allows almost all congregations to be involved in every worship activity organized by the church, namely: Raya Worship, Cell Community Worship, Youth and Youth Worship, evening prayer service, worship, Women's worship, Men's worship, fasting worship, and Discipleship worship so that their spiritual growth is increasingly visible through a lifestyle of loving one another

Maka, (Eduward Purba et al, 2021) berpandangan bahwa ibadah adalah aktivitas memuji Tuhan maupun menerima proklamasi serta mempraktikkan firman Tuhan sebagai respons terhadap keselamatan yang telah diperoleh secara individu ataupun secara komunitas yang tidak dibatasi oleh lokasi maupun hal teknis yang baku. Dengan kata lain ibadah boleh dilakukan baik secara onsite dan itu baik, tetapi juga secara online selama unsur-unsur yang menjadi esensi ibadah terdapat di dalamnya.…”

Tujuan Penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah menganalisis apakah ibadah online masih relevan bagi kesehatan gereja sebagai Tubuh Kristus Post-Endemi Covid-19 di Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) Parakletos Cengkareng? Menggunakan pendekatan metode kualitatif deskriptif, serta mengumpulkan data melalui berbagai buku termasuk Alkitab, jurnal jurnal maupun wawancara, serta berbagai dokumen yang mempunyai keterkaitan dengan topik yang menjadi kajian dalam penulisan ini. Ibadah sebagai salah satu sarana untuk berbakti sebagai wujud iman kepada Allah, dan juga sebagai kewajiban bagi setiap orang beriman hari-hari ini dipertanyakan relevansinya dikarenakan keberlangsungannya justru menjadi salah satu penyebab sebagian gereja ditutup dan sebagian lain berkurang dalam jumlah jemaat oleh karena jemaat yang tadinya beribadah di tempat mereka, lebih memilih beralih kepada gereja yang melaksanakan ibadah online dengan fasilitas alat alat digital yang canggih seperti salah satu contoh Gereja Satu Jam Saja (GSJS) yang mengadakan ibadah livestreaming sebanyak sembilan kali sehari di hari Minggu. Hasilnya, ibadah online masih relevan bagi kesehatan Gereja sebagai Tubuh Kristus, hanya kesakralan ibadah melalui rasa hormat maupun takut akan Tuhan, serta kesungguhan Jemaat dalam beribadah kepada pribadi Tuhan yang masih sangat perlu ditingkatkan.

This study seeks to explore new media adaptation through environmentally friendly dissemination messages at a religious organization during the Covid 19 era in Indonesia. This study used the phenomenographic method in a constructive/interpretive paradigm to explore the difference in the experience of members of the congregation who participate in online worship versus face-to-face worship to demonstrate environmentally friendly dissemination messages. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with informants who represented three levels of membership of ordinary members, church administrators, and organization administrators. Secondary data was obtained through the documentation of social media of the religious organization (the Christian Church of East Java) in Surabaya, East Java Province, Indonesia. The findings of this study confirm different variations of experience in synchronous and asynchronous worship. The variety of experiences is divided into knowledge, feelings, and mindset of the congregation. Synchronous message dissemination contributes strongly to the knowledge, feelings, and mindset of the congregation in facing changes in worship models. This study contributes by offering an alternative to the phenomenographic method in the study of organizational communication. The limitation of the study lies in the object of the study which is limited to informants from the local church in urban areas. This research has yet to accommodate the online worship experience for congregations in rural areas.
