This study reports a facile, cost‐effective, environment‐friendly, green, and rapid fabrication of spherical silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) of average grain size of 25 nm within 30 minutes employing the leaf extracts of the Calamus tenuis plant. Characterization was accomplished for determining the morphology, size, crystallinity, and for the identification of functional moieties responsible for the reduction and stabilization. The phytoconstituents present in the leaf extracts of Calamus tenuis played the dual role of reducing as well as stabilizing agents eliminating the need for the addition of any external reducing and capping agents.
