Recyclable Magnetic Cu/CuFe2O4 Nanocomposites for the Rapid Degradation of 4-NP

Abstract: Magnetic Cu/CuFe2O4 nanocomposites were prepared by the one-pot thermal decomposition of acetylacetone compounds. Adjusting the molar ratios of Fe to Cu was used to control the content of Cu in the synthetic process. XRD, TEM, XPS and UV-Vis were employed to reveal detailed structural and catalytic activities of Cu/CuFe2O4 nanocomposites. Magnetic measurements demonstrated that Cu/CuFe2O4 nanocomposites possessed a considerable magnetic saturation. Cu/CuFe2O4 nanocomposites showed superb efficiency in the degr… Show more

“…Remarkably, the proportion of OVs in the CNFO‐ X powders increases and then decreases as the Ni doping amount increases from 0% to 20% and reaches a maximum (∼42.7%) at the case of 15% Ni content. The Cu 2p emission spectra of the prepared CNFO‐ X specimen (Figure 3C) can be deconvoluted into two shoulders of ∼933.46 and ∼934.7 eV, which are attributed to Cu(I) and Cu(II), respectively 31 . Similarly, the peaks located at ∼710.6 (i.e., Fe(II)) and ∼712.6 eV (i.e., Fe(III)) in Fe 2p as well as the peaks at ∼854.9 and ∼856.0 eV in Ni 2p can be specifically classified (Figure 3D,E).…”

“…Fig. 5(b) displays the typical UV-spectra at 300 nm, 45 which show the formation of PAP from the reduction of the p -nitrophenolate ion. 46 After the Au/EPAA composite was added, the solution changed from dark yellow to colorless, and the reduction reaction was completed within 270 s without ultrasound or stirring.…”
