Recovery of organic matter and microbial biomass after abandonment of degraded agricultural soils: the influence of climate

Abstract: After abandonment of agricultural lands (ongoing on 220 million hectares worldwide), degraded arable soils undergo self‐restoration and development towards natural ecosystems.
