Recovery of foraging behavior of atlantic salmon exposed to a simulated commercial application of fenitrothion

Abstract: Fenitrothion is an organophosphate insecticide, used to control forest pests, that has often been sprayed in areas containing streams inhabited by Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). This study simulated the exposure of Atlantic salmon during operational spraying of fenitrothion to determine if there would be effects on foraging behavior and the length of time required for recovery from any effect.
