Reconstruction of the laser Compton scattered gamma-ray distribution in the energy-angle phase space from crystal diffraction data

Abstract: The distribution of laser Compton scattered (LCS) photons in the energy-angle phase space reflects the parameters of the laser and electron beams at the collision point and provides the spectral density and bandwidth available in the LCS source. Diagnosis of the energy-angle phase space is thus crucial for developing high-flux and narrow-bandwidth LCS sources. Such diagnosis has been utilized for photon energies below 100 keV, but not realized for photon energies above 1 MeV. We demonstrated reconstruction of … Show more

“…Geant4 is an open-source Monte Carlo simulation toolkit for simulating the passage of particles through matter, which has a wide range of applications into high-energy physics, radiobiology and medical physics. 10,11) The core of Geant4 simulation is an abundant set of physics models to handle the interactions of particles with matter across a very wide energy range. Data and expertise have been drawn from many sources around the world and in this respect Geant4 works as a repository that incorporates a large part of all that is known about particle interactions; moreover, it continues to be defined, expanded and developed.…”
