“…Acoustic rhinometry measures anatomic cross‐sectional area, which can be helpful in assessing patients with nasal obstruction due to stenosis at the valve area. Two authors30, 43 present improvement in cross sectional area in 91% to 94% of patients. Peak inspiratory nasal flow is also a valid tool in assessing changes in nasal conductance but no studies present results with this technique.…”

“…The surgical techniques described addressed collapse of the INV or ENV or both. The studies were grouped on this basis and are presented in Tables I, II, and III 7–48. The lack of any high‐quality studies precludes the pooling of data and thus meta‐analysis is neither possible nor appropriate.…”

“…The few techniques described to treat lateral internal nasal valve collapse include lateral suture suspension, 8 the flaring suture, 9 the upper lateral splay graft, 10 the modified endonasal splay graft, 11 the butterfly graft, 12 and most recently the upper lateral strut graft. Although many different surgical techniques have been used to manage internal nasal valve narrowing, the majority of techniques aim to treat the internal nasal valve angle medially.…”
