Abstract-This interdisciplinary study integrates ICT in education through the innovation of an interactive audio-based application as a tool to enhance English language speaking skills among less proficient students. Drawing on the sociocultural perspective of learning, the application named 'V-Buddy' has been developed and tested with a group of participants which consists of five primary school students and an English language teacher. The teacher was briefed of her role as a facilitator before the students were exposed to V-Buddy for eight weeks. Adopting one group pre-test and post-test experimental design as its methodology, the teacher was asked to evaluate the students' level of confidence to speak prior to and after their engagement with the V-Buddy. The teacher was also interviewed to obtain her feedback on V-Buddy whilst the students were asked to complete the Personal Report of Confidence (PRC). The analysis reveals that all the students developed higher confidence level after their engagement with V-Buddy and the teacher perceived it positively which suggests its potential to be used as a tool in developing speaking skills among less proficient students.

Lecture recording is an increasingly common practice in UK universities, whereby audio, video, and multimedia content from lecture theatres can be captured and distributed online. Despite a large body of recent lecture capture literature, much of the empirical research adopts positivist paradigms, which overlooks the complex and unpredictable nature of teaching and learning. Addressing this knowledge gap, this exploratory case study adopts sociomaterial approaches, specifically perspectives from the domain of actor-network theory (ANT), to view learning technologies as complex assemblages involving heterogeneous human and non-human entities or actors.This paper explores the entanglements involved in enacting online pedagogy and learning across spatiotemporal dimensions using trace ethnography and visualisation mapping. Examining the student-led study practices revealed that multitasking and fluid task switching, between contrasting networks and spaces, was a significant activity during the playback of lecture recordings. Exploring an innocuous and ubiquitous practice, such as video pausing, affords nuanced perspectives into the sociomaterial entanglements involved in enacting study practices. Moreover, adopting multimodal sensitivities reveals how often overlooked modes, such as iconography, can become actors within an assemblage. This may offer new insights into how modes help produce or stabilise configurations and advance efforts in attending to the nonhuman within actor-networks.

The development of music computer technologies in the late 20th-early 21st century has significantly expanded the ways of obtaining information. High-tech information educational environment requires the search for new approaches and fundamentally new systems of education in the School of the Digital Age. The global applicability of the music computer technologies (MCT) provides new, in fact, limitless possibilities of self-realization, stimulates the rapid development of intelligence, raising training to a new level. Compatibility with traditional musical technology creates conditions for the continuity of musical eras and styles, their interpenetration and synthesis, reinforcing the interest in musical culture in general. In musical practice, the big distribution has acquired a new class of musical instruments that includes keyboards, synthesizers, workstations, multimedia computers, etc. Among the main objectives worked up by contemporary pedagogics in music, the authors focus their attention on the actual possibilities of digital technologies in enriching and enhancing the role of traditions that have been crystallized in practice of musical pedagogics for many centuries. The authors of the article analyze the problems concerning the current significance of contemporary musical notation, and, in particular, the ones being formed by the development of hightech information environment, as well as the ways to solve some problems of learning music on the basis of computer technologies using the Soft Way to Mozart system.
