Reconsidering Private Higher Education in Brazil

Abstract: This article discusses the role of the for-profit private sector in the Brazilian Higher Education System. Emphasizing its hegemony, we consider that the adoption of mercantilist logic has implications for the quality of supply and is leading the sector to be characterized as an oligopoly.
