Corresponding exclusion criteria were: (1) absolute contraindication for WB-EMS (e.g., arteriosclerosis, electric implants, cardiac pacemakers [ 17 ]), (2) contraindications for magnetic resonance imaging, (3) frequent WB-EMS application during the last 12 months, (4) regular resistance exercise for more than 60 min/week during the last 12 months and (5) expected absence of more than one week during the intervention period.
