Recognition of Partial Discharge Pulse Based on Short-Term Energy and DTW

Abstract

In partial discharge location system of cable, both original and reflected waves have been produced by the same PD location, there is an intrinsic link between them. Through the traditional correlation analysis can’t identify partial discharge pulse effectively, can’t well reflect the association characteristics between the original and reflected waves, such as the amplitude and pulse width. For the identification process of the original wave and reflected wave, this paper proposed short-term energy and DTW method. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is increased the efficiency and reliability of the identification of the original and reflected waves.
