Recognition of Immune Microenvironment Landscape and Immune-Related Prognostic Genes in Breast Cancer

Abstract: Background. Breast cancer (BC) is the most common malignant tumor in women. The immunophenotype of tumor microenvironment (TME) has shown great therapeutic potential in tumor. Method. The transcriptome was obtained from TCGA and GEO data. Immune infiltration was analyzed by single-sample gene set enrichment (ssGSEA). The immune feature was constructed by Cox regression analysis. In addition, the coexpression of differential expression genes (DEGs) was identified. Through enrichment analysis, the function and p… Show more

“…Co-expression analysis of TIMER and cBioPortal showed that LRMP was strongly correlated with IL16, KLHL6, EVI2B, SASH3, ARHGAP25, and IKZF1, which are involved in tumorigenesis or immune/inflammatory response (Yang et al, 2017;Choi et al, 2019;Xu et al, 2019;Wang et al, 2020;Mougiakakos et al, 2021;Yang et al, 2021). Our results also showed that LRMP-related gene expression was reduced in LUAD, which was associated with a worse prognosis in patients with LUAD.…”

“…Among the five hub genes, the most common variant type was missense mutation ( Figure 7(b) and Figure supplementary 4 (b)). Mutation in genes can influence the immune phenotypes of cancers [ 43 , 44 ]. We compared the hub gene expression with Pan-Cancer immune phenotypes [ 27 ].…”

“…Increased oxidative stress plays a role in carcinogenesis in breast cancer patients [ 115 ]. In a study of the immune microenvironment of breast cancer, oxidative stress in combination with other biological phenotypes was associated with high immune infiltration [ 116 ]. Thus, targeting oxidation pathways could be promising for developing immune therapies for breast cancer.…”
