Recherche Tomodensitométrique sur la Topographie Stéréotaxique des Espaces Méningés de la Vache (Bos taurus L.)

Abstract: Tomodensitometric examinations of the stereotaxic anatomy of the bovine intrameningeal spacesThe head of a Holstein cow was selected from seven available ones in order to produce a series of tomodensitometric transverse and sagittal sections according to Horsley-Clarke. These sections make it possible to show the stereotaxic topography of the intrameningeal spaces (Sinus epidurales and Cisternae arachnoideales) in Bos taurus. The discussion includes suggestions for new terms for three of the spaces -Sinus condy… Show more

“…The SCN at these levels is located below the SoR, lining the dorsal surface of that portion of optic chiasm that is still detached at these levels from the ventral borders of the brain. Despite the fact that such a conformation is uncommon in most studied species, a similar organization has been described in sheep ( Tillet et al, 1989 ; Tessonneaud et al, 1994 ), cow ( Lignereux, 1986 ), and in humans ( Swaab et al, 1985 ; Hofman et al, 1988 ; Hofman and Swaab, 1989 ). Similarities with these species were also demonstrated with regard to the rostrocaudal morphological variations of the SCN.…”

“…Additionally, the NAc and the corpus amygdaloideum were taken from the left and right hemispheres of the brain and stored in RNAlater (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany) at − 70 °C until analysis. The localization of these areas was determined using a stereotaxic atlas of the cow's brain 89 . It was not possible to extract tissue from the left NAc of two animals and from the right NAc of one animal in the CON group.…”
