Abstract:Oily wastewater treatment in the petroleum industry may generally be classified as process wastewater pretreatment, primary treatment, secondary treatment, and tertiary treatment or polishing. In secondary treatment, dissolved oil and other organic pollutants may be consumed biologically by microorganisms.
