Abstract:arpal tunnel syndrome is the most common peripheral nerve entrapment syndrome worldwide, with a prevalence of approximately 3 to 4 percent of adults. 1,2 Carpal tunnel syndrome can occur on a spectrum commonly classified as mild, moderate, or severe. Those with severe disease typically have a longer duration of symptoms, thenar atrophy, electromyography demonstrating denervation, and nerve conduction studies with prolonged impulse transmission.
