Abstract: Abstract. Transmission experiments are a critical component of vector competence studies. In this study, a real-time reverse transcriptase−polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to enumerate the amount of West Nile virus (WNV) secreted in mosquito saliva following oral infection.
