Abstract:The design of object-oriented real-time distributed systems is especially hard due also to the fact that some issues (distribution) are dealt with too early in the system lifecycle, others (strategy) are hard-coded as programming-inthe-small issues, others (time) are hidden inside the operating system kernel. We present a reference architecture for monitoring and control systems that addresses the first two of these issues. The architecture lifts distribution, activation and timing up to an explicit, programmi… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
