Real time implementation of intelligent reconfiguration algorithm for microgrid

Abstract: Microgrids with renewable distributed generation and energy storage offers sustainable energy solutions. To maintain the availability of energy to the connected loads and to interrupt the smallest portion of the microgrid under any abnormal conditions, reconfiguration is critical to restore service to a section or to meet some operational requirements. Reconfiguration is the process of modifying the microgrid's topological structure by changing the status (open/close) of circuit breakers or switches. This pape… Show more

“…A similar methodology was presented in [35], where the selection process is carried out thanks to the roulette wheel, but there is a re-ranking process of the solutions acquired at each iteration, which gives the fittest ones a bigger change to have offspring. Other papers that deal with this topic are [46], [100], and [105].…”

“…However, in this paper, a boundary detection algorithm based on modified graph theory is proposed to identify the islands topology once they are formed. A simplified graph theory is utilized for different purposes such as microgrid reconfiguration [39] and load flow calculation [40].…”
