Real Power Modulation Strategies for Transient Stability Control

Abstract: Transient stability control of power systems is based on actions that are taken automatically following a disturbance to ensure that the system remains in synchronism. Examples of such measures include generator rejection and the insertion of dynamic braking resistors. Methods like these are designed to rapidly absorb excess energy or otherwise alter the generation-demand balance at key points in the system. While these methods are often effective, they lack the ability to inject real power to compensate for a… Show more

“…Fast depletion of limited to fuel resources more carbon emission and huge transmission losses are focusing the concern of power sector companies towards the use of renewable energy resources (RES). Renewable energy resources are the sources which can be achieved from the boundless source [1]. Appropriate use of renewable energy resources is popular discussion going nowadays.…”

“…In [21], the effect of using machine acceleration as a feedback signal in a realpower injection control scheme is presented. In [22], a feedback control strategy based on local and center-of inertia frequency measurements is explored, and in [23], a critical review of research on real power modulation strategies for transient stability control is provided.…”
