“…The interaction of HAuCl4 with N containing compounds has been shown to occur at the N atom through ligand substitution, which is often accompanied by the reduction of gold ions. [43] Density functional theory studies of the interaction of amino acids and DNA with Au 3 clusters have shown they occur by electron transfer from N, O, and S (from amine, carboxylic, and sulfur groups) to 5d and 6 s orbitals of Au via lone pairs. [44,45] In addition, a nonconventional H-bond between amine and Au, N-H----Au, in which Au acts as a proton acceptor, was identified.…”

“…[19] There exists only one gold(i) complex with an NH-aldimine, [AuCl(NHCHnPr)], formed in the reaction between [AuCl 4 ] À and nBuNH 2 . [20] The only reported gold(iii) complexes with imines contain cyclic ketimines (pyridines, pyrazolato, porphyrins, etc.). [21] Here we report a family of gold(i) and gold(iii) complexes with noncyclic ketimines, including acetimine, using two different synthetic methods.…”

“…Nitrogen ligand coordination compounds of Au 3+ have not been studied extensively [48]. Nagel and Beck [49] have reported that the reaction of AuCl 4 with n-butylamine led to the formation of the imine ClAuNH=R, by a ligand displacement reaction. Additionally Yang et al [50] have reported the binding of the amine group of dodecylamine to Au 3+ [50].…”
