Reactions of [Ru(CO)3Cl2]2 with aromatic nitrogen donor ligands in alcoholic media

Abstract: = chelating aromatic nitrogen ligand, N = non-chelating or bridging ligand). The reaction and the product distribution can be controlled by adjusting the reaction stoichiometry. The reactivity of the new ruthenium complexes was tested in 1-hexene hydroformylation. The activity can be associated with the degree of stability of the complexes and the ruthenium-ligand interaction. Chelating or bridging nitrogen ligands suppresses the activity strongly compared with the bare ruthenium carbonyl chloride, while the d… Show more

“…In 3 where the H-bonding interaction of the Au(CN) 2 anion lacks to induce interlayer or intra-layer interaction, cocrystallization of the neutral molecule induces the needed - stacking that influences the crystal morphology. Similar behavior has been observed in previous structural work involving metal based anionic adducts including tetrachloridoferrate(III), Pt, and Ru containing anions [23][24][25].…”

“…We have also, reported the synthesis and crystal structure of [PtCl 4 (pz) 2 ], (V), (Yousefi et al, 2007c) [where pz is pyrazine]. Several proton transfer systems using 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, with proton donor molecules, such as [Dmphen](ClO 4 ), (VI), (Morsali, 2005), [Dmphen] (NO 3 ), (VII), (Yu et al, 2006), [Dmphen][Ru(CO) 3 Cl 3 ], (VIII), (Moreno et al, 2006) and [Dmphen] [FeCl 4 ], (IX), (Veidis et al, 1981) [where Dmphen is 2,9-dimethyl-1,10 -phenanthrolinium] have been synthesized and characterized by singlecrystal X-ray diffraction methods.…”
