Reaction of Water Vapor with Carbon Vapor in a High-Intensity Arc

Abstract: the rate constants and certain compositional parameters of virgin gas oils (with low basic nitrogen). For example, plots of log Ko and log Ki vs. log A/N (ratio of aromatics/naphthenes) were linear. The rate constants for recycle and coker stocks deviated from these correlations.

“…For lower proportions of carbon, the change of sublimation temperature resulting from a change in pressure is lower than that for molar ratios greater than 1. The comparison with previous calculation of Tremblay and Kaliaguinel [12] is also presented in Fig. 12.…”

“…The fragments of hydrocarbons with more hydrogen atoms in the molecule such as C 2 H 3 , C 3 H 2 , C 4 H 2 , etc. are missing due to their negligible fraction when carbon and water reacts [12]. The species of the CHO system are mostly reactive [15,16] and therefore, a large number of chemical species (69 heavy species in all), including relevant atoms, ions and molecules, are taken into account as listed in Table 1.…”

“…These species react with saturated hydrocarbons in moderate to low yields [based on 40% of (C)" -» C x ] to give insertion followed by rearrange ment for X S or double abstractions for 3 The reaction of carbon vapor with water vapor has also been examined. 68 In this case, acetylene, CO, and H 2 were the major products, especially acetylene. It is possible that the acetylene results from C 2 and the CO and H 2 from Ci.…”
