“…In order to establish whether this synthetic method could be useful in our case, we have initially prepared the phosphine derivative of compound [Ru 3 (CO) 9 (l 3 -g 2 ,g 4 ,g 3 -{Me 3 SiCC(C 2 Fc)SC(Fc)CSC"CSiMe 3 })] (1). Among the few examples reported of polynuclear derivatives containing a PPh 2 H ligand, the compounds [HMCo 3 (CO) 11 (PPh 2 H) (M = Fe or Ru) [4], Ru 3 (l-H)(l-N@CPh 2 )(PPh 2 H)(CO) 9 [5], Os 3 (CO) 9 -(l-dppm)(PPh 2 H) [6] and Os 3 Ru(CO) 11 (l-PPh 2 )(l-H) 3 PPh 2 H [7] have been prepared by direct decarbonylation or substitution of labile ligands. The substitution of CO by NMe 3 requires mild conditions avoiding the degradation of polynuclear species.…”
