RBBP4 promotes colon cancer malignant progression via regulating Wnt/β-catenin pathway

Abstract: BACKGROUND Our previous study demonstrated that RBBP4 was upregulated in colon cancer and correlated with poor prognosis of colon cancer and hepatic metastasis. However, the potential biological function of RBBP4 in colon cancer is still unknown. AIM To investigate the biological role and the potential mechanisms of RBBP4 in colon cancer progression. METHODS Real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis were used to detect the… Show more

“…CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) is a well-known regulator facilitating chromatin into topologically associated domains by enhancing cohesin-mediated loop formation [31], which is strongly associated with cancer initiation [32]. RBBP4 could promote the malignant progression of colon cancer through the Wnt/β-catenin pathway [33]. CDC23 regulates the tumour cell phenotype and is upregulated in papillary thyroid cancer [34].…”

“…The mixture was purified by column chromatography on silica gel eluted with dichloromethane: methanol (80 : 1) to get AD-PPD as white solid with 31.0 % yield. The structure of purified probe was verified by 1 H-NMR (500 MHz, CDCl 3 ) and 13 C-NMR (125 MHz, CDCl 3 ) at room temperature. Analytical data for the purified probe in the spectra of 1 H-NMR and 13 C-NMR (Figure S1 and Figure S2) were shown in Supporting Information.…”

“…CHAF1B protein expression in colon cancer positively correlates with Ki-67 expression, but proved not to have prognostic value [ 29 ]. RBBP4 protein expression is upregulated in colon cancer cell lines and clinical samples [ 53 , 54 ]. RBBP4 promotes tumorigenesis via the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway [ 54 ], and there is a significant association between RBBP4 expression and vascular invasion, lymph node spread, hepatic metastasis, and reduced survival [ 53 ].…”
