Abstract: SYNOPSIS A young patient with a family history of migraine, livedo reticularis and recurrent transient episodes of neurologic deficits is presently reported. It is possible that all three conditions are a single clinical syndrome of generalized arterial vasospasm.

“…As the presence of retinopathy in the Dutch family does not tend to occur below 20 y, we may need to wait to see if retinopathy also becomes associated in this family. We also note in this case report the family history of ischaemic heart disease and glaucoma, both of which have been associated with Raynaud phenomena and migraine 6–8, although no genetic basis for these associations has as yet been found.…”

“…2 Reversible segmental vasoconstriction in both the carotid and vertebrobasilar territories has been shown in subarachnoid hemorrhage and migraine or of uncertain cause. 22 Evidence of cerebral, not just skin, hypoperfusion associated with RD includes de novo recurrent infarctions in a patient with RD and migraine with aura 12 and of cerebral oxygen desaturation after cardiopulmonary bypass in a patient with RD. 23 Single-photon emission computed tomographic analysis showed deterioration in preexisting cerebral perfusion defects in patients with secondary RP subjected to a cold stress test.…”
