Abstract:Acid‐induced arginine decarboxylase AdiA is a typical homo‐oligomeric protein biosynthesizing alkaline nylon monomer putrescine. However, upon loss of the AdiA decamer oligomeric state at neutral and alkaline conditions the activity also diminishes, obstructing the whole‐cell biosynthesis of alkaline putrescine.
