“…Ratcheting phenomenon was observed in pipes with defects which induced 70% and 80% reduction in thickness subjected to bending moments varied from 30% to 90% of the yield strength of the material. Zeinoddini et al 36 studied the effect of artificially produced rectangular corrosion defects on the ratcheting response of a steel tube under axial cyclic loads. According to their findings, the ratcheting strain had an exponential behavior in the defect zone, while it showed a linear behavior in intact sites of the tube.…”
