“…The so-called neuromuscular re-education is the treatment of choice, and it consists in facilitating the return of normal patterns and, at the same time, eliminating undesirable patterns of facial movements and the control of facial movements (8). Chaudhary et al described a case of a 22-year-old female patient in whom untreated facial nerve palsy lasting for many years led to unilateral dentoalveolar expansion and bone asymmetry of the mid and lower face (9). This fact indicates that changes in the bone structure can also develop in non-growing patients if the balance between intra-and extra-oral muscles has been disturbed.…”
