Abstract:Carcinoid tumors are rare malignancies that develop from epithelial cells in the diffuse endocrine system, with a notable proportion originating in the gastrointestinal tract. Delayed diagnosis due to their nonspecific symptoms often results in advanced disease upon presentation. Surgery is the main treatment, involving tumor removal while preserving bowel function.
