“…Unfortunately, no comprehensive monitoring has been conducted so far. In available publications, we found only information on the impact of lake level on the condition of the Amur softshelled turtle (Pelodiscus maackii (Brandt, 1857)) (Maslova 2016, Bazarova et al 2022, Maslova et al 2023) and on commercial fish stocks (Zuenko et al 2020). Data on the impact of flooding and waterlogging on vegetation cover and flora composition, including the state of populations of Oxytropis chankaensis Jurtzev, a rare psammophyte species, are extremely scarce, fragmentary and largely incomparable (Bazarova et al 2022, Kozhevnikova & Maslova 2022.…”

“…The Slender racer ( Orientocoluber spinalis ) is a rare, yet widely distributed colubrid snake, occurring across the Korean Peninsula, China, Russia, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan 29 , 30 . This species has a low abundance in fragmented habitats and is only observed in few protected areas in these countries 31 – 33 . As a result, ecological information on O.spinalis is globally scarce despite its wide distribution.…”

“…As a result, ecological information on O.spinalis is globally scarce despite its wide distribution. In addition, Russia 31 , Mongolia 32 , and Kazakhstan 33 , 34 even classified this species as threatened species. Nevertheless, the most recent assessment made by the IUCN on O. spinalis classified the species as Least Concern 35 , thus not reflecting the apparent rarity of the species across its geographic distribution.…”
