“…Meanwhile, the weak absorption associating with hydroxide phase was still distinguishable in the case of In 2 O 3 films annealed at 300 and 400 8C but not in 600 8C-annealed films, which corroborates the report on the thermogravimetric analysis of In(OH) 3 nanoparticles, in which case the complete decomposition of In(OH) 3 to In 2 O 3 happened at 500 8C. [17] These results are also in accordance with the studies mentioned in [22] that the incorporation of Sn helps the hydroxide-to-oxide transformation at lower temperatures.…”

“…It also shows superior properties such as catalysis, [14] photocatalysis [15] and so on. To a great extent, the interest arises from the fact that In(OH) 3 can be readily converted to In 2 O 3 under mild heating (>200 8C) [16] or microwave radiation [17] without changing the morphology. It thus becomes an ideal intermediate to synthesize In 2 O 3 -based materials including ITO.…”

“…The color of the solution changed in to brown color precipitate. This precipitate was placed in microwave irradiation (Domestic microwave oven, LG) for refluxing with power of 20 W, the ON/OFF cycle duration as 15 s/15 s, with the total reaction time of 5 min [37,38]. The ON/OFF cycle was used to control the overheating.…”

“…A representative HRTEM image (Fig. 10b) of a single spherical particle of as-synthesized Tl 2 O 3 shows the lattice planes with a clearly resolved interplanar distance of d 222 = 0.31 nm, compared with a theoretical interplanar spacing of 0.3042 nm [61].…”
