Rapid preparation and characterization of a bridged bis(β-cyclodextrin) functionalized urea–formaldehyde monolithic column by a “one-pot” approach

Abstract: A new bridged-CD monolith was prepared by “one-pot” method within 30 minutes. The obtained bridged-CD monolith showed satisfactory enantioselectivity compared to a native-CD monolith.

“…Recently, multifunctional complexed CD-based dimers and multimers have emerged, which largely enriched the design and function expansion of CD materials. For example, an amphiphilic inclusion complex formed by β-CD and a paclitaxel dimer could self-assemble into stable supramolecular binary vesicles, which could transform into nanoparticles by introducing competitive guest molecules to β-CD or digesting β-CD through α-amylase. Interestingly, if enough β-CD was added, the nanoparticles could revert to vesicles again, exhibiting a reversible control of self-assembled morphologies .…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] Dimacrocyclic host molecules (DHM), as the name suggests, are a type of double host molecule formed by the covalent bridging of two macrocyclic molecules. [9][10][11][12] As the host molecules, DHMs not only retain the original host-guest properties of macrocyclic compounds, but also display new properties based on the selection of specific bridging agents. For example, photoresponsive azo-benzene can be selected as a bridging agent to confer specific photoresponsive properties to the designed materials.…”
