Abstract:A 32-year-old man with sickle cell disease (SCD) was admitted to the hospital for sickle cell crisis, during which laboratory workup revealed primary hyperparathyroidism. His treatment regimen included hydration, calcitonin, and calcimimetics. A parathyroid nuclear scan revealed anomalous parathyroid tissue.
