Abstract:Several bacteria are adapted to colonize and live together with multicellular organisms. There are some pathogenic bacteria that are even able to invade eukaryotic cells for different purposes, usually to escape the immune response or antibiotic treatment, but also to take advantage of growth in the nutrient rich host cell environment.
