“…The first absorption peak was assigned to π-π * transition of the benzenoid rings and the second was attributed to the transition of benzenoid rings into quinoid rings ( Laska & Widlarz 2005;Kan et al 2006). The results (UV-Vis characterization of PANI) obtained in this study are in close agreement with the literature values (Laska &Widlarz 2005;Kan et al 2006;Singh et al 2008;Mazeikiene et al 2007;Kang, Neoh & Tan 1998). The FTIR absorption band at 3325 cm −1 was assigned to N-H stretching of the amine group of polyaniline (spectrum not shown).…”

“…3. PAni-B spectra presented characteristic bands at 1170 (C-H bending); 1206 (C-N stretching); 1502 (C=N stretching); 1560 (N-H bending) and 1598 cm −1 (C=C stretching) (Mažeikienė et al 2007;Cirić-Marjanović et al 2008;Moravková et al 2012). PAni-DBSA spectra, in turn, presented characteristic bands at 1190 (C-H bending); 1,260 (C-N stretching); 1,343 (C-N + stretching); 1,530 (C-C stretching); and 1620 cm −1 (C-H stretching) (Nobrega et al 2012;Ibrahim 2013;Shakoor and Rizvi 2010).…”

“…PANI complexes with HMW polyacid (Fig. 8a presents spectra of PANI/PA-4) demonstrate behavior similar to common PANI (Table 4) [37]: during the reduction, we observe gradual growth of 1620 cm −1 band (indicating an increase of the benzenoid (B) ring content in PANI macromolecule) and corresponding decrease of Raman intensity near 1580 and 1486 cm −1 (indicating a decrease of the quinoid (Q) structure content in the polymer). Simultaneously, we observe splitting of the radical cation band near 1340 cm −1 and a shift of >C-H in-plain bending vibration from 1170 to 1192 cm −1 which also characterizes the reduction process.…”
