Raman analyses of co‐phasing and hysteresis behaviors in V2O3thin film

Abstract: We present the studies of the phase transition behaviors of V2O3 thin film using temperature‐dependent Raman scattering spectroscopy. Our results show that in both the cooling and heating processes of V2O3 thin film, the phase transition occurs gradually but not suddenly, contrary to that in single crystal. The coexistence of both the metal and insulator phases with co‐phasing ΔTc larger than 30 K is observed in both the cooling and heating processes. We discuss that this large co‐phasing ΔTc should be disting… Show more

“…16,22) The bands at about 690-710 and 730-750 cm − 1 are assigned to the structural units of vanadium and chromium in melts, respectively. 17,23,28,29) Considering that the structural behavior of irons is different in the different slag system, the present work investigated the structural behavior of various ions in FeO-SiO 2 . The band at about 698 cm − 1 was assigned to the stretching of the V-O 2 -V bond; the second vibrational mode at 524 cm − 1 was assigned to the stretching vibration of the V-O 3 bond in the medium region.…”

“…Raman spectroscopy of magnon scattering, when observed, can directly investigate the spin properties, thus would be powerful to study not only spin-ordering transitions, but also weaker spin-reorientation transitions. However, in general, magnon scattering has much weaker intensity comparing with phonon scattering, which makes it difficult to apply Raman study of magnon scattering to investigate spin-ordering and spin-reorientation transitions212. In strong resonance condition, magnon scattering can be significantly enhanced.…”
