Rainwater Harvesting Infrastructure Management

Abstract: As climate change impact is affecting all countries, water scarcity is continually a pressing issue to all countries in the world. The groundwater availability around the globe and locally such as in the ground of Papua New Guinea, Lae City, the garden city of the country, is also affected by the phenomenon. An alternative source such as the rainwater which across the globe is not equally shared thus harvesting it by creating an infrastructure for wider use needs management for sustainability. The study focuse… Show more

“…All forms of water can be used for irrigation purposes. Water can be collected with pulley buckets, and motor pumping or drainage channels from groundwater such as wells, boreholes, stagnant pools, dams, streams, and rivers, and surface runoff during rains, as well as water conservation practices such as rainwater, sewage, and wastewater harvesting [25,[30][31][32][33]. Hence, effective dissemination of information in this regard is vital in supplying appropriate knowledge, information, and skills to users [19,34].…”

“…In Tokyo RWH system is incorporated to reserve water which meets the emergency water demands during seismic disaster [7,8,9]. *Corresponding author: Sayantan Dutta, sayantandutta29@gmail.com In order to meet our daily demand of water requirement and reserve for the future purpose, alternative relatively economical and effective technological methods need to be introduced [10,11,12]. Hence, harvesting of rain water is seemed to be one of the best scientific methods to serve the purpose.…”
