Rainfall & Seismological Dump Slope Stability Analysis on Active Mine Waste Dump Slope with UAV

Abstract: Mine waste dump material has no economic value to the industry. Therefore, the mine waste is dumped, forming slopes. Mine waste dump slopes obtain 30% to 50% of the mining area. To reduce the land occupancy of these slopes, they are created with high altitudes. Hence, they are susceptible to failure. Slope stability analysis is a major aspect of geotechnical engineering. Slope stability analyses are mostly done with assumptions on the geometry. This is avoided in this paper with the usage of UAVs. The 3D model… Show more

“…Eqs (15)(16)(17) describe the whole process of the change of resistivity with seepage and fracture development during the slope from drying to saturation. It can be seen from Eq (15) to Eq (17) that the resistivity of the water bearing slope is positive correlation with the proportion of residual air, is negative correlation with the water content in the pores of the slope, which is consistent with the conclusion of Archie formula.…”

“…Absolute localization was successfully achieved by integrating 3D local ground Lidar data with global 3D aerial data (Vandapel et al, 2006). UAVs were found to be invaluable for slope mapping and hazard assessment based on slope angles within geotechnical engineering (Zolkepli et al, 2022) (Layek et al, 2022). Furthermore, they were recognized for their efficiency in generating Digital Terrain Models to serve various purposes (Giordan et al, 2020).…”
