Rainbow valley of colored (anti) de Sitter gravity in three dimensions

Abstract: We propose a theory of three-dimensional (anti) de Sitter gravity carrying Chan-Paton color charges. We define the theory by Chern-Simons formulation with the gauge algebra (gl 2 ⊕ gl 2 ) ⊗ u(N ), obtaining a color-decorated version of interacting spinone and spin-two fields. We also describe the theory in metric formulation and show that, among N 2 massless spin-two fields, only the singlet one plays the role of metric graviton whereas the rest behave as colored spinning matter that strongly interacts at larg… Show more

“…Results in this respect were recently discussed in [86] from a holographic perspective and compared to a previous light-cone analysis performed in [84,85]. Those results, however, refer to higher-spin theories whose spectra involve only one particle for each value of the spin (or possibly a finite number of them, taking into account that the corresponding results [85,92,93] also hold in the presence of Chan-Paton factors), which is generically not the case for Maxwell-like theories. Thus, while one may still expect that for any given theory the analysis of quartic vertices would allow to fix all the relative coefficients in the cubic couplings, it is not straightforward that the results obtained so far should apply to class of theories discussed in this work, in force of their different particle content.…”

“…We worked out details of the dimensional reduction method from AdS d+k to AdS d in appendix C. It is the AdS generalization of the non-abelian Kaluza-Klein compactification [29]. This generalization also provides a geometric framework for the colored higher spin theory proposed in [30][31][32][33][34][35][36].…”
