Observation is one of the stages in the selection to obtain the expected rice lines to be tested at the yield and multi-location testing stage as candidates for breeding rice varieties. The research was carried out at the Tamanbogo Lampung Experimental Garden in the 2021 planting season (MT) using an augmented design with five replications of comparison varieties: Inpago 8. Inpago 12, Inpago 13. Situbagendit, and Situpatenggang. As many as 247 promising breeding rice lines were used as materials in this experiment with their respective advantages. Each line was planted with a 0.9 m x 5 m plot size with a spacing of 30 cm x 15 cm. Fertilizer used is 300 kg/ha NPK + 100 kg/ha Urea. Weeding is done twice, precisely at the time before the next fertilization I and II. The observations include 50% flowering age, harvest age, plant height, tiller quantity, dry-milled grain yield, and resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. The analysis of variance showed that the genotype significantly affected plant height and productive tiller quantities. High heritability and genetic advances in plant height characters indicate that this character is a selection criterion so that selection can be made to increase these characters. The comparison varieties significantly affected the character of plant height and productive tiller quantities. From this activity, 37 breeding lines were obtained with higher yields than the comparison varieties.

Karakterisasi, variabilitas genetik dan heritabilitas tanaman tapak dara penting diketahui pemulia untuk melaksanakan seleksi dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas tanaman tapak dara sebagai tanaman hias. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi variabilitas dan heritabilitas berbagai karakter 13 genotipe tapak dara. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Oktober 2020 sampai bulan Februari 2021. Percobaan bertempatkan di screen house Perumahan Rakyat, Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini disusun dalam rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktor tunggal yang terdiri dari 13 genotipe tapak dara dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada 13 genotipe tapak dara terdapat keragaman pada karakter kualitatif yaitu bentuk daun (memanjang dan jorong), tipe pertumbuhan batang (menggantung dan tegak), warna utama corolla (pink pucat, peach, putih, pink fanta, apricot, pink taffy, lavender, magenta, rose pink, pink kemerahan, pink, baby pink, dan orange), dan warna tengah corolla (pink pucat, peach, putih, pink fanta, merah, french rose, baby pink, dan orange). Ragam genetik diantara 13 genotipe tapak dara bernilai 0.01-32.15 (sempit), dan nilai heritabilitas karakter berkisar rendah-sedang (2-50%). Dugaan kemajuan genetik yang memiliki nilai tinggi yaitu pada karakter jumlah kuntum bunga per buku (20%) dan jumlah cabang (23%). The study aims to identify the morphological and physiological variation of the 4th generation of C. frutescens L. G1/01 and G7/01. The morphological data measured based on IPGRI, AVRDC and CATIE descriptors, and capsaicinoid content measured using spectrophotometry were used to build Jaccard similarity-based cladogram. The results showed that 40% of the G1/01 and 100% of the G7/01 plant height were categorized into very high category (> 85 cm). One hundred percent of the G1/01 and G7/01 were categorized into very early and late flowering, respectively. Eighty-five percent of the G1/01 and 100% of the G7/01 fruit length were categorized into normal (1-5cm). Ninety percent of the G1/01 and 56% of the G7/01 fruit diameters were categorized into normal (>0.5-1cm). Eighty-nine percent of G1/01 and 100% of G7/01 fruit weight were categorized into moderate (0.1-2g). Eighty percent of the G1/01 and 100% of the G7/01 number of seeds were categorized into moderate (>50-200 seeds) and small (<50 seeds), respectively. The capsaicinoid content of G1/01 and G7/01 was significantly lower than the original type. Mutant T39 (G7/01) had the highest capsaicinoid content (19.35mg/g). In the dendrogram, genotypes G1/01 and G7/01 were separated based on the character of the node color, petal color, peel surface, leaf color, and flowering time. G1/01 formed five clusters while G7/01 formed two clusters. G1/01 is more varied than G7/01.
