“…The method used to estimate the economic consequences of transportation accidents is similar to that used for preclosure economic risks. The RADTRAN III code (Taylor and Daniel 1982, Madsen et al o 1983, Madsen et al 1986 generates economic unit factors (dollars/unit distance versus health risks/unit distance for unit risk factors) based on this approach. The economic unit factors are multiplied by the distance traveled in I year to obtain an estimate of annual economic risks.…”
