Abstract:A wireless measuring device for long term temperature measurements on unrestrained rats is presented. Up to 5 rats are tested simultaneously in order to get better statistics. The electronic units, coating problems for the implanted transmitter, and tissue reaction are described. The system makes it possible to measure the diurnal rhythm of experimental animals in a normal animal house. It is observed that the Orcadian temperature rhythm in subcutis and in mammary carcinoma is in phase. The consequence of this… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
